Fractional rigs - see note below.
Boats with Fractional Rigs with swept spreaders may pose a problem when hoisting our Mast Ladder due to the steps being 34cm. wide having to pass up between the lowers and up past your spreaders. A simple modification (supplied and fitted by us), allows the Mast Ladder to be narrowed and stood off from the mast, enabling it to be hoisted past an obstruction and let back close into the mast again. In the photograph above it's not shown with a fractional rig but it serves to demonstrate the principle and the effect that is achieved.

Please select from the above information, the type of sail slide that you require to fit the mast groove on your boat. Advise us of the type when you order a Mast Ladder. We can then supply your Mast Ladder, ready for use, with all slides fitted.
The number of slides required to be fitted depends on the lenght of mast ladder. For example a 30'(9.16M) mast ladder will require 21 slides to be fitted. PLEASE NOTE: Slides must be fitted to our mast ladders before use. Failure to do so will compromise the design principle of the ladder in respect of stability and safety.

Our patented Mast Ladders offer an advance in performance over mast access equipment currently available, providing greater safety and stability due to being held close against the mast by the slides, having rigidity under load, with ample full width treads designed to minimise foot fatigue, it is a proper ladder, easy and quick to use, lightweight and compact for easy stowage. With the advantage that you are able to use it just as easily and safely, even if you are single-handed.
Please note: Our Mast Ladders are suitable for persons of up to 20St.(127Kg.) and are tested to a 150% safety margin. Our Mast Ladders are suitable for use aboard the vast majority of boats, providing that the 34cm wide steps are able to pass between your lower shrouds and up past your spreaders.
Generally our Mast Ladders are not suitable for use aboard boats fitted with mainsail in-mast furling, but there have been some exceptions, e.g when there is an axiliary mast groove in a suitable position. Our Mast Ladders are now in use aboard a variety of boats-Bavaria 30 & 35, Contessa 26 & 32, Catalina, Challenger 35, Elizabethan 29 & 30, Folkboat, Fisher 30, Hustler 35, Halberg Rassey 42, Hunter Pilot, Ranger 246 & 265, Jaguar 25 & 27, Moody 31 & 36, Macwester wight, Melody 35, Prout Event, Sadler 25, 29, 34 & 36s, Sigma 33c, Starlight 39, Snapdragon 747, Warrior 40, Westerly's Pageant, Centaur, Griffon, Tempest , Merlin & Falcon. To date our Mast Ladders have achieved satisfaction with all of our customers, that will always be our aim.
